Mike Wold was born and raised in McMinnville, Oregon, graduated from Linfield College in 1968 and studied Marine Biology and Ocean Engineering at Oregon State University from 1969 to 1974. Mike Wold has been in the rig moving business since 1975. He began his career in January of 1975 hauling the Alaskan Pipeline and running the haul road from Fairbanks to Prudhoe Bay. He worked on the North Slope for Mukluk Oil Field Services, and Veco as a rig-up hand, bed-tandem hand, truck pusher, and super intendant for 18 years.
Mike also built the first Western style ice roads in northern Russia in the early 90’s as a Peak Oilfield Services consultant to Conoco’s Polar Lights project. He then moved to Houston Texas and managed the start-up of Nabors Drilling’s Peak USA Energy Services, rig moving division with terminals throughout Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Colorado and Wyoming. His latest experience in the oilfield industry was as the Arctic Logistics Specialist for the Rig 274 Liberty Project of Parker Drilling and BP Alaska.
Mike has seen a need in the industry for a new generation of rig mat and has used his many years experience in the industry to design and build this new and exceptional product.
